Whiteley Village, Surrey, is the UK’s first purpose-built charitable retirement village and home to around 365 residents. For over a century, the Trust has provided housing for older people of limited means and today plays a significant role in local affordable housing provision.
The Trust is now at a critical stage in its evolution. Alongside the need to invest in homes, heritage assets and infrastructure, there is a clear requirement to strengthen long-term financial sustainability through effective treasury management, development funding and the strategic use of land and assets.
The Whiteley Homes Trust is seeking to appoint a Trustee to its Board, with strong expertise in strategy, finance and treasury management, and a proven track record in funding housing development within the social housing sector.

As a Trustee and member of the Finance, Audit & Risk Committee, you will play a key role in the governance, financial oversight and strategic direction of the Trust.

Time commitment: 4–5 Board meetings per year (plus strategy day) and 4 Committee meetings annually
Location: Surrey (with some remote participation)
