About The Organisation

The US-UK Fulbright Commission is a not-for-profit organisation whose mission is to advance education, promote civic engagement and develop compassionate leaders through education exchange between the peoples of the US and the UK. Our vision is a world in which where there are no obstacles to learning, understanding and collaboration.

With core support from the UK and US governments, the Commission offers prestigious Fulbright awards for postgraduate study and academic research in the US and the UK, as well as a number of other programmes and services for British citizens interested in studying in the UK.

Since the UK programme began more than 75 years ago, more than 25,000 people have been given a Fulbright award through the Commission, and today the programme continues to foster mutual understanding and people-to-people connections.

The US-UK Commission is committed to reflecting both the UK and US governments priorities through its programming and to achieving excellence in education through identifying potential in our merit-based selection processes. It embraces a culture of respect, engagement and belonging.

Position Description

At this significant moment for international education exchange, we are seeking a new Trustee who shares a strong interest and is committed to Fulbright’s mission and working in service of a bi-national organisation.

You will join our board of Commissioners to provide strategic leadership and oversee the work of the Commission.

Selection Criteria

We are particularly interested in candidates with previous experience in the legal and compliance sector, senior leadership in UK higher education, or with professional exposure to the interface between higher education and the UK government.
