About The Organisation

We’ve been proudly serving Cheshire communities for over 25 years! Our founders, Gary Cliffe and Deina Smith, started Changing Lives Together in Winsford with a clear mission – to find practical solutions for environmental and social challenges that make a real difference locally.

Today we offer a range of services to meet different community needs, from reuse furniture and community groceries to befriending and support schemes. We’d love to welcome you to one of our sites soon.

Everything we do is guided by our commitment to sustainability, community support, empowerment, and integrity. It’s about making life a little better for everyone in our community.

Our activities
At Changing Lives Together, we exist to make life better for people across Cheshire. Everything we do is rooted in community, dignity, and practical support. We reinvest every penny back into local services so we can reach more people, reduce isolation, and build a stronger, more sustainable future for everyone.

Affordable Food for Local Families
Through our Very Green Grocery stores in Winsford, Northwich and Crewe, we help people access affordable, good‑quality food without referrals or stigma. Families can shop with choice and dignity, easing the pressure of rising costs.

Community Transport That Keeps People Connected
Our transport team travels tens of thousands of miles each year, helping people get to medical appointments, social activities, and essential services. For many, we’re the difference between staying connected and becoming isolated.

Tackling Loneliness and Social Isolation
We run befriending services and warm welcome groups that provide friendship, conversation, and a sense of belonging. Last year alone, we supported thousands of hours of meaningful social contact.
