Position Description
As Chair of Citizens Advice Shropshire, you will provide inspiring leadership to the Trustee Board, helping to set strategic direction, monitor performance, and ensure strong governance in line with national standards. Working closely with the Treasurer, you will oversee financial stewardship and accountability, ensuring the organisation remains financially sound and well-managed.
You will also play a key role in supporting and developing the CEO and Senior Management Team, fostering strong relationships that enable effective day-to-day delivery of services. In addition, you will help build a diverse and skilled Board, ensuring Trustees are well supported, engaged, and representative of the local community, while leading well-run, inclusive meetings that enable clear decision-making and effective collaboration.
Time commitment:
The Chair is expected to attend four Board meetings and eight sub-committee meetings each year, alongside regular meetings with the CEO and occasional Trustee development, recruitment, and strategic planning activities. Sub-committee meetings are held on the same day.
We aim to keep the time commitment realistic and manageable, averaging around 3–4 days per month.
